Assembling a Crane in Baker Street

Knocking a crane together in Baker St

There is something about the bright colours and structures used in construction that I find very appealing. I like the shapes and patterns. I took this shot on a fine sunny morning, drinking a cappuccino, while watching the gradual assembly, section by section, of an ever taller crane - which was later used to lift the top off the Abbey Building on Baker Street so that supporting scaffolding could be put beneath it and a new building assembled underneath the existing roof - extraordinary! (Though obviously I didn't stick around for the whole process.) Go to Next Image or Previous Image or LDN 2 Gallery
