A Last Few Red Telephone Boxes

A row of red telephone boxes in the West End

There aren't many of these left. Designed by Giles Gilbert Scott, presumably in his spare time between Battersea and Bankside power stations, not to mention the Salvation Army HQ, these are amongst the last of the classic red telephone boxes. It is a shame to see them go but, I suppose, as someone who gets a little peeved that the keyboard on my mobile phone is a bit too fiddly to compose emails of more than about a hundred words, I can't really complain. In fact the devices inside these 'phone boxes' are Internet terminals with a phone thrown in for forms sake. If you want to see them they are just beside the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden.
